Personality & Traits
Personality Overview | Iy'dan is a gentle soul with a natural resting aggression that is not reflected in his personality. Furrowed brow and concentrated look that he uses to great effect but he is far more flamboyant than he is serious. He does have a keen intellect and is incredibly quick witted and always seeking new learning opportunities. Very creative on top of all of this. Something that has carried over from his previous host. He has found he can sing and has a real passion for it. |
Personal History | Brell Born in 2204 Brell was Age 42 when first joined Year Joined: 2246 Host: Varzuss Varzuss was the first host to the Brell Symbiot. Female and became a prolific writer of her time writing some of the most inspiring and well regarded books of her generation. Was Host for 53 years when she succumbed to old age. Year Joined: 2299 Host: Selid Selid was the second host to the Brell Symbiont. He was an accomplished musician who travelled the Federation performing some of the best music of the cultures of the Federation that one could hear. Sadly Selid was host for only 5 short years when he contracted a neurological condition that threatened the life of the Symbiont and he made the decision to save the Symbiont by having it removed. Year Joined: 2304 Host: Neema The Third host to the Brell Symbiont was rushed through after the death of Selid in order to help stabilise the Symbiont. The joining worked out well and gave the Symbiont 37 years of continued life. The Host was a school teacher on Trill up until the time she passed away of old age. Year Joined: 2341 Host: Yos'zim The previous host was an entertainer, singer and theatrical entity that roamed the Federation performing. Brell had almost completely recovered from the illness Selid had sacrificed himself to save Brell from. Yos'zim however found that her own personality over powered that of the Symbiont to a degree as she was so gregarious. She too passed away from old age 42 years after she had been joined. Year Joined: 2383 host: Iy'dan |

Service Record | Iy'dan was born in the year 2361 to two loving parents on the Trill homeworld. His father was the grounds keeper for the Federation Embassy on Trill and his mother was a seamstress. He grew up surrounded by love and the quick wit and loving nature of both his parents. He had developed a keen interest in sports at a young age which continued with him through his earl life. His childhood was as one would expect, scraped knee's, first love and first kiss, school and finding who he was and what he wanted to do with his life and two things floated to the surface. He was determined to become host to a Symbiont and to grow his passion for Science into a career within Starfleet. and in the year 2379 at the age of 18 he enrolled in Starfleet Academy. He quickly established himself as a popular figure within his class because of his light hearted personality, easy going nature and his fathers good looks may have been a contributing factor as well. He never used his looks to bed someone else but at the same time he didn't shy away from any offers. his four years at the Academy seemed to go very quickly and he graduated with honours and right after graduation he enrolled with the Symbiosis Commission and submitted his application for joining and within a year he was accepted and selected to replace Yos'zim as host to the Brell Symbiont. Because of the strength of the previous hosts personality imprint on the 150 year old Brell Symbiont very quickly started to over write certain elements of Iy'dan's personality. For instance his sexuality changed and his athletic nature was over shadowed by his creative and theatrical abilities and interest very quickly. This did not stop him however and he was back in uniform within two months of the joining and taking on his first deep space assignment. Year: 2384 Assignment: USS Oberon Position: Junior Science Officer Four year assignment exploring uncharted star systems on the fringes of Federation Space. Most of this time he spent truly rediscovering who he had become after his joining. First contact was made with two civilisations which he had no part in. He instead was focused on his work cataloguing the samples they had taken during their time charting the different systems. He was sent on three away missions in this time. During one of the away mission he was gravely injured, his spinal cord severed at the base. To combat this the Chief Medical Officer installed neural shunts to carry the nerve impulses so he had no lack of motor control once he had recovered. Due to the severity of the injury he was never able to have them removed. Year: 2388 Assignment: USS T'Pau Position: Junior Science Officer This assignment lasted for three and a half years and was very similar to his previous assignment although by this time he had discovered who he was and was far more confident in dealing with the previous hosts urges even if Yos'zim had over ridden huge elements of his own personality. He was regularly included on higher profile away mission during this assignment as the ship was a smaller class and had limited numbers of officers. It was on this assignment he undertook his bridge officer exam and qualified with flying colours. He also started to take the occasional duty shift on the bridge to help out. Year: 2391 Assignment: Sigma 3 of the Delta Valonis Cluster Position: Science Officer This assignment lasted only a year and a half studying the remains of a dead society that had been uncovered by colonists. They quickly discovered that is was of T'Kon origin. After a few months on into her time here the Assistant Chief Science retired and he stepped up into the position. Year; 2393 Assignment: USS Damocles Position: Chief Science Officer This was his first chance to take the reigns of his own department, even if it was on a smaller and older class of vessel. This was the start of his future and he embraced it whole heartedly. The assignment lasted for three years and he made a name for himself as both a Chief Science Officer and a duty officer. It was due to this posting and his success there that prompted his next posting. Year; 2396 Assignment: Deep Space 21 Position: Science Officer |
