The final frontier has been forever changed...
Following the Borg Invasion of 2401, the worlds of the United Federation of Planets struggle to rebuild from the destruction wrought. As billions overcome the affliction of their forced assimilation, billions more fight their own prejudices toward the afflicted.
In the middle of it is the USS Saratoga. Recently relaunched from Spacedock, the Saratoga has been assigned to the Maelstrom as the new Federation flagship for the region. Their mission: to restore the Federation's place in this war-torn region and help bring the galaxy back from darkness.
But, in the Maelstrom, the final frontier fights back. Dangerous radiation lurks everywhere, subspace rifts threaten to rip space to shreds, and quantum destabilizations can unravel time itself.
The adventure is only beginning...
Maelstrom is a Play By E-Mail Roleplaying Game that was inspired by the events of the highly popular early 2000s video game Star Trek: Bridge Commander and Star Trek: Picard.

Following the disastrous events of Frontier Day, the Federation has relaunched the Starship Saratoga to serve as the flagship of the Maelstrom Sector.
While returning home, the crew has been diverted to investigate a distress call from a world on the outskirts of the Maelstrom. Little is known about the nature of the emergency except that scans show that that region is flooded with unique radiation signatures unlike those previously encountered within the zone. Can the crew solve this mystery before it's too late?
New mission begins January 1, 2024!
