Raised in a Federation colony by her Human father and her hybrid mother, she grew up on Eldon Prime, a world that would later be destroyed in the 2429 Klingon‑Romulan armada strike. As a quarter‑Cardassian hybrid, Skye hid her Cardassian traits and grew up alongside the Federation colonists during the uprising. Her childhood and adolescence unfolded during the Union’s authoritarian turn in the 2420s, the Great Cleansing of 2431, and the construction of the Cardassian Wall in 2436. These events shaped her understanding of her heritage: not as a national identity, but as a cultural legacy carried through her mother. At eighteen, she entered Starfleet Academy, pursuing operations and engineering. She graduated with solid marks and was assigned to her first posting aboard a Federation starship as an engineering officer. Her experience with unstable systems and crisis‑driven engineering eventually earned her a senior position aboard the USS Saratoga in the 2430s. During the Cardassian take over, Eldon Prime was destroyed. Skye’s mother was among those killed. Her father, Colin, survived among the other refugees and retreated to a safe Federation area. |
