Location: First Officer’s Office
Timeline: Prior to “Long Road to Ruin”

Liarra had been surprised to see Alec when she’d first reported in when she came aboard, she had expected to be meeting up with him when shoreleave allowed, but now they were both assigned to the same starship she could finally be with him. Pressing the door chime she eagerly awaited an answer.

Alec sat at his desk in his ready room room waiting for his visitor. His fingers tapped on the desk as he waited. He was still surprised by her appearance and she had some quick explaining to do. It wasn't that he wasn't glad to see her just the opposite. He was quite happy to see her. He just hadn't expected to see her here. He had last seen her at their apartment when he left for his then current assignment not knowing his orders would be changed and he would end up on the Saratoga. Hearing the door chime, he was roused from his musing about Liarra. Now he could find out first hand what she was doing here. Standing up, he called out "Enter!" and awaited his visitor and the answers she could provide.

Walking into Alec’s office Liarra smiled warmly as she walked over to him. “Alec! It’s so good to see you! I wasn’t expecting to find you here.”

"It is very good to see you as well Liarra. I certainly didn't expect to see you here but then again I didn't except to end up here either." He gestured to one of the chairs in front of the desk. "Please have a seat. Would you like something from the replicator?"

“A blackcurrant and lemonade would be nice please, I’ve taken a liking to it.” Liarra smiled as she took a seat.

Alec walked over the replicator and ordered her drink. Returning to her, he hand the drink to her. "Better you than me." He said with a shudder.

Liarra grinned. “I find it quite refreshing.” She sipped her drink before giving him a curious look. “So, where do we go from here? Do we pick up where we left off or will that be a problem now you’re my Senior officer?”

"If you like it that's great." Alec replied with a smile. Alec walked to his desk but didn't go behind it to sit rather he leaned against to be close to Liarra and talk. "As to where we go from here. I am perfectly happy to continue where we left off which means as a couple. Do you see any problems with that?"

Liarra shook her head. “I have no problem with that all. Does that mean I get to share the XO’s quarters as well?” She gave him a wry smile.

Alec nodded, "I am very glad to hear that and not only to you get to share the XO's quarters you get to share his bed as well." Alec replied with a smile of his own.

Liarra smiled. “Now there’s an offer I can’t refuse. Are you sure it won’t be an issue with the Captain? Some CO’s take exception to senior staff being romantically involved.”

"From what I have seen of the captain, I believe he trusts his officers to keep duty and private affairs separate and would only interfere if that was not being done."

Liarra nodded sipping her drink before answering. “I’m glad to hear that, and I’ll do my upmost to keep our relationship professional whilst on duty. As for off duty that’s a whole different story!” She gave him a wry smile.

"I know you will handle it with the utmost professionalism while on duty. As for off duty as you said that is a completely different story." Alec answered with a bright smile.

Liarra grinned. “I’m so happy to have been assigned here with you. I never thought we’d ever be together. Maybe having you down as my fiancé made a difference to that.” She held up the hand with her ring on. “I keep this on all the time, it kept me close to you when we were far apart.”

Having you here makes everything so much better." He looked at her engagement ring. "It pales in the face of your beauty. Maybe it did." He admitted, "I know we're together now and that is all that matters."

“So is the new Counsellor allowed to give the First Officer a kiss while he’s on duty?” Liarra asked with a wry smile. “ I wouldn’t want to be getting you into trouble.”

"In the turbolift is fine I would think. In front of others might cause talk and that could lead to problems. for both of us." Alec observed. "Or you could just wink and bat your eyes at me." He teased.

“Actually I meant now” Liarra grinned. “Though you’re right if someone was to enter without knocking we’d both be in big trouble. It can wait until later. I have to sort my office but we could meet for lunch and you could show me our quarters? I had my things sent straight to my office anyway.”

Alec was silent as he leaned forward and kissed Liarra softly. "There kiss is taken care of. As for lunch absolutely. The I can show you our quarters and you can put your things away and settle in."

Liarra smiled. “That was worth the wait, and I can’t wait until lunchtime already.”

"I know exactly how you feel and I also can't wait for lunch. I'm sure it will be most memorable." Alec quipped.

Liarra nodded. “Memorable will be tonight just you wait!” She grinned. “Anyway I guess I should be getting to my office. I have some organising to do. Speaking of which where exactly is my office situated?”

"That's very good question and as Chief Counselor you need that information to carry out your duties. In answer to your question they are on Deck 5 next door to the Chief Medical Officer's Office. You are in the primary medical section of the ship. Sickbay, surgical wards and recovery room are also located on deck 5." Alec replied.

“I had a feeling it would be near sickbay, but I thought I’d check.” Liarra smiled. “In that case I’ll let you get back to your duties and I’ll go find my office.”

"Your feeling was right and if you feel you must run off, I'll see you for lunch." He paused, pushed off the desk and was back in front of her. "I am very glad you are here and....." He bent down and kissed her softly. "I love you."

Liarra returned the kiss before smiling. “I love you too Imzadi.” With that she stood giving him a big smile before she headed on her way.

Alec watched her leave. he was already looking forward to lunch as he moved behind the desk to get back to work.
